Folks,
Continuing to check ice and Permits are nearly secure. Meeting with the Cass County Sheriff Next week to review. as of now there is 12inches of ice by shore within 100 to 150 feet and then out at 400 feet it is 9 to 10 inches with 6 inches of snow on top. We need some colder weather, not making any ice now. Stay tuned. A special thanks to John Jacklitch III for venturing out to make a check on the ice. To make this race happen we need to be on the ice January 9th to plow and shave. With Warmer weather into the weekend of January 5th, we'll have to see.
If it looks like this will happen, we will again race out of Ernies on Gull and then Craguns will be the host place to stay. I have not set up a rate or block of rooms yet.
Forest Lake should be good to go. City has approved permits and now securing the Sheriff and DNR Permits. This will be in conjunction with Kids Pro Ice. As normal, we will be setting up a rate with the Country Inn and Suites in Forest Lake. This race is set for January 25th.

Folks,
The weather is not our friend for making ice or allowing it to freeze down with some rain and then heavy wet snow on about 9 to 10 inches of ice. There is about 7 to 8 inches of very heavy wet snow on the ice over the 6 inches that was there. Stay tuned, as this race is more than likely to be cancelled. With the Forecast of temps to stay warmer, this will not be better by time we need to be plowing and shaving, which would be January 9th. More to come.
Ron
