Happy New Year to all!
January 19th at McGregor
Terry Roy of the Eagle Point Lounge called me today to let me know we have 14 inches of good ice on Big Sandy. There is about 1-2 inches of slush ice on top of this which we will shave off.
This is looking good and the cold weather should make some more ice for us.
So while you are thinking this cold weather sucks, smile , because we need it!
I have the DNR permit in hand and the Sheriff is looking to issue their permit one week prior
Forest Lake
Details for this race are coming together. The Rush City Jaycees will host a fun run on Feb 2nd, the Saturday, and They will use the CMSA timing equipment and shaved track. They will have trophys!
So, you can test and/or race at Forest Lake on Saturday, or Race at Rush Lake and then......
Plan on parking your rigs on the ice on Saturday Night. Again, the Laker will be having drink, dinner, and super bowl specials on Saturday and Sunday Night for the Racers! Just show them your wristband! Get a room and make a weekend of it!
Annandale on Pleasant Lake
This race is looking good. Hutch, Josh, and I drilled a hole in the ice yesterday and there was 14 inches of good ice with 2 inches of slush ice on top. We will shave this off. Should be plenty on Feb 23rd for this race the way it looks!
Other:
You can now access the CMSA websit using http://www.racenssr.com , which has some nostalgia to it.
Also, CMSA will now be a Division of National Straightline Snowmobile Racing (NSSR), LLC.
While the initials are the same, we did change the order of Snowmobile and Straightline from the Past.
We fired up the Timing equipment yesterday and both systems worked. This is good news!
Renovations are near completion on the Fish Bowl (where you guys and gals pick up your speeds).
As some of you may have noticed, the 1996 trailer was getting a little rough, okay, real rough!
It recieved a new front skin, new white poly urathene paint, new wheels and tire, and will get new decals soon. Special thanks to Moy Custom Painting in Waverly for taking on this thankless repair job (let's say he was glad to get it out of the shop).
Any questions or updates you have on lake conditions are always appreciated!
Thanks!
The Crew at CMSA.
