Ice Update:
WE still need cold weather to make this happen.
I am sure the ice is a few inches thicker now with the overnight temps.
The open water by the point is far on the west side point, and the ice is always thin on this thin shallow point, so nothing new.
Attached is what Sommer Outdoors had posted yesterday (Saturday Dec 30th), its sounding like it is making good ice.
Greg
ICE UPDATE: So I went out and checked the ice today and plowed a road to the east point of Hall. I found as little as 8.5 inches up to 10.5 inches along the road. I realize there are a few people driving cars on Hall but just know what your driving on. That being said there is still open water off the west point of Hall. I know it sounds crazy with -14 temps but be advised.
Fairmont will be a points race, as all that are now on the schedule are for 2018. It will not be a TopGun Challenge Race. However, there is $1000 for Top Speed of the Day, $500 of this is provided as a bonus amount for the Blizzard Snowmobile Club! Thank You Sponsors!
I'm thinking this will happen if temps stay cool or Cold and the snow doesn't blast in to stop the freezing!
We are staying on track with this one and no, there is no backup plan at this time.
Stay Tuned.
See attached poster for the Fairmont Race
WE are making ice on Hall Lake in Fairmont.
Reports indicate 11 to 12 inches earlier this week now.
members of the Blizzard Snowmobile Club are going out to check out the ice this week and will report back on progress.
Cold temps continue, so should be good as long as we don't get snow.
They are also plowing off the parking area by shore this week, so that will help.
We will keep updates going, but I am positive this will go thanks to what the weather persons are calling our Artic weather!.
Thanks!
Ice is coming along nicely and a track is plowed and the parking area is plowed with 15 to 18 inches of ice as of yesterday!
12 inches minimum all over down track area.
Looks like we are good to go, so blow the dog food and cobwebs out of the pipes and put in some fresh fuel.
Get your motel room and see all the options above supported by our local Hotel Sponsor Jason Subbert of the Holiday Inn!

Ricky Schellbach will be boosting the Nitrous on that Supermod to crack the 170's, anyone have bigger drill bits?
Mike Martin and Crew will be bring the famous Busa Mod to lay the smack down in the Exhibition Class, can the 183.439 mph Record and fastest pass ever in 1000 feet be beat now by Driver Glenn Stickels, who was the tuner on that pass made by Fast Eddy Ensor in Chetek, on this air shifting six speed machine?????
