Folks,
NSSR is doing great and we are more excited than ever.
We have some great new venues and finally some good winter ice to keep things rolling after two years of just one event!
We have some great sponsors and those who want to be sponsors, so thanks to our supporting sponsors!
We have spent over $80,000 in buying new equipment to replace the stuff that was getting old and that is all on the dime of Ron and Stacy Bray!
The NSSR budget is mostly breaking even, even with 2 really tough winters, for operation of the racing, it just doesn't provide the capital needed to keep the equipment up and provide the needed upgrades.
That being said, Ron, Stacy, and some family members all provide their vacation time and time spent working on races at no reimbursement, so all time on our part is donated.
So, Stacy and I are still excited.
However, some items floating out there that are not valid, so this needs to be put out there to shut this down.
1. There is no $10,000 cash donation from Castle or any other sponsor for TopGun Top Speed money. Castle provided their great clothing to NSSR for 6 crew members at no cost and then we buy the other suits as needed at a significant discount. the embroidery of these suits is on NSSR also. We love our Castle Clothing, thanks Castle, this stuff is fabulous for wind, cold, and waterproof!
2. Top Speed Money was always at $500 by NSSR and not $1000, unless the local race sponsor added to this purse, such as Fairmont did this past January, thanks to the Blizzard Club for doing this. I am open to bigger purses if that works with the budget, all ears on this one!
3. The Top Speed money was put to the TopGun Class at the rate of $500 per race for 3 of the 4 races, for a total of $2500 per race. Some think they were cheated out of this and that it was their money, not further from the truth. I can't even see how the reasoning on this makes sense! The top speed money has gone to the fastest sled to show up, and it would have been the same outcome regardless. if you notice the note on facebook, Flat Repair of Minnesota stepped up and put 10 each $50 purses for the 1st place competitor in several classes for a total of $500, thanks for your support Flat Rate Repair. and they are committed to do the same for Chetek! Now that is the support that NSSR needs:)
4. Some have said that it was too far to drive to Green Bay, well folks, the 4.5 hour drive to an Epic event, or spend 2.5 hours going to a local race in northern Minnesota, Kurt, you do a great job out there and thanks for stepping up and putting races on! You know who you are and I leave that to your conscious. I want to just say thanks to those who showed up in Green Bay to support NSSR on the Pro Side. Those 45 entries are on the Good List! The Green Bay Race Venue is making National History and some of you hot rods just missed it!
5. The whole ISR License item is added cost to the pros and I understand that. However, if we are to be ISR affiliated and maintain legitimacy for the only World Record Series, this had to be maintained. I will say that ISR worked with us to minimize the impact of this and now we have great access to our ISR/USAC Event insurance. Some say the medical insurance is so, so, but that should only be looked at as an added benefit, not the main reason for this License.
6. Do not hesitate to call me if you have issues, but members get first choice on the Pro Side, and we love our Radar Runners. Ron at 612.360.1280
I just want to say a big thank you to those who support NSSR by showing up, our Spectators, our Sponsors, and our Hosts! We can't do this without you! Also, I love our enthusiastic crew and their commitment to make this the best venue out there! Thanks to you gals and guys for sticking beside Stacy and I, it makes a lot of difference.
