I just want to advise all that the ice is not even close to being thick enough.
Last check it was 7 inches and last week was not good, and the forecast is for low 30's during the day with no real cold nights.
We do have the Sheriff's and DNR Permits in hand, but they trust us to make the right decision from our years of relationships.
I would say we could park on land and race, but set up with shaving would be the challenge, and I know all would hate to work on ice, especially if it is actually cold that day. We would need a lightweight jeep and/or suzuki with a plow to borrow with good ice tires to get shaving done even at this.
Looks as if the coldest day of the upcoming time period will be January 14th for the first time.
Stay tuned.

My information is that Hackensack, which freezes early, is only at 10 to 12 inches as of now. It is questionable if this will even be good by the january 14th weekend.
I also understand that Lake of the Woods wasn't that great.
Ideas are welcome.
