Ice Check on Friday the 11th in the AM resulted in 14.5 inches of hard ice and there is no snow on the Lake.
The access will need some work to get rid of the ice heave, so we are still making ice.
I will be in contact with the City on getting the access prepped.
We are still making ice with even this weather and the cold weekend should make the ice we need to be at 16 or more.
I will check on the 18th again and provide an update.
keep in mind the entire race area and Pro Pits are at 24 inches to 36 inches deep at the most until you get out into the lake where the fish houses are and there is a drop off.
At that location we found 13.5 inches of ice and that is about 600 feet out from shore.
Thanks!
Ron
Folks,
Checking ice later today, so stay tuned for update.
Should be good and the City is working on fixing the Ice Heave at the Access.
More to come.
Ladies and Gentleman,
Great news as the ice went from 14.5 inches in the parking and starting line area to 16 inches gaining 1.5 inches in a week of moderate temps!
I would not be surprised if it is not at 17 inches on Monday, there is zero snow on the lake, so the ice is taking the brunt of the cold!
With the colder weather now we will easily be at 18 inches at the race parking area.
Barring any unforeseen weather conditions, the race is still planned to go on Saturday the 26th!
Get those Hot Rods ready and let's blow the dog food out of the pipes:)
Let me know if you have questions.
Thanks!
Ron
