As most of you know we went to Fairmont on the January 15th date and the ice was questionable.
There were spots that had 8 inches and right next to it was 17inches.
It seems that through the snow, melts, rain, and freezing that they are at 12 to 14 inches of ice as of yesterday with about 2 to 3 inches of wet/frozen snow on top of this.
Our plan as of today is to keep the race on for the February 21st date.
We will park big rigs on shore, and trailers and be parked along the shoreline spread out.
We will do one track for all, only the plan will be to have the starting line about 100 feet wide and keep the Radar runners on the East side in about 40 feet of the starting line.
Only one sled will run at a time.
We will continue to monitor ice conditions, but it appears that it is now good enough to set up a track and race with the right approach.
If anyone has an extra jeep or similiar type vehicle, we could use it for pulling the shaver - let me know!
Thanks!
