Wow, nice weather if you hate winter activities! This word Cancelled is killing me, but we have no option.
The NSSR RACE and the Outlaw Drags on Lake Chetek are cancelled!
However, the Winterfest activities at Chetek will go on with the Chamber of Commerce.
Rob Licht, organizer, has said he is still holding all other activities including the Bikini Run for Charity!
So go have some fun in the sun, but just a reminder, the lake access at the airport is now open water.
I am cancelling the race completely. With the warm weather continuing, I am nervous with the ice and know the landings are going away already.
The option of moving to Gull Lake Northwest of Brainerd is not working either.
I do want to thank the Cass County Sheriff and the Grand Rapids Office for the DNR for helping us get permits on Gull Lake for this weekend!
My backup plan came together and I thought we could pull the move off if Chetek Cancelled the Race portion of their event!
Well, with the heat and the significant rain fall, it is just not safe!
Have fun with you family this weekend enjoying the nice weather.

Crane Lake was a thought for a while.
The NSSR Crew had plans for that weekend already with their families.
Also, be complicated for insurance, entry fees, trophies, 2 tracks, and logistics.
My other concern was for medical and the proximity of Hospitals.
Jim and Kurt do a good race, and that is a good thing to leave with them.
Gull Lake plan was my backup for Chetek when I seen the forecast, and that also crumbled with the rain.
Last week NSSR took the effort to get the DNR and Cass County Sheriff Permits for Gull at the Quarterdeck.
Be safe and we will be ready for next year and hopefully some real ice/winter!
