Pleasant Lake Ice is Border line as of now with 12 inches of good ice plus 4 inches of slush ice with 3 inches of snow over the top in the area of the track.
Good new is that the slush is frozen, but the bad news is that the good ice is not getting any thicker. So this cold butt weather is not helping!
Maybe it will now, but we need to see what happens by Sunday.
Buffalo Lake is not good and they are loosing a car there once in a while.
As I mentioned in the Buffalo cancelled post, the ice on Birch is at 16 inches with an inch of slush ice on top and about 5 inches of snow, mostly hardpack. This may be the alternative, so get those sleds ready.
We will find out if the DNR will issue a permit on short notice for this area, along with the Sheriffs office as an alternative.
McGregor is not an option at this time and I have not checked the Ice up there.
There are rooms in Walker at the Country Inn and the Northern Lites Casino for Friday Night but they are booked solid for Saturday. That is the good and bad news.
The Americinn in Pequot Lakes has room for Friday and Saturday Night and it might not hurt to get a reservation now! Tell them you are with NSSR as we will probably get a better rate there.
Stay Tuned!
