To all Racers:
We are adding alot of classes that allow full body sleds to run some wild speeds.
Also, a lot of classes continue to go faster with newer parts and technology.
Running over 135 mph used to be quite a feat, but now we have about 15 or more classes that do it on a regular basis.
Everybody loves these speeds and it's a blast, but:
If you run 135 or more on a regular basis, you will be required to have a full leather or kevlar suit.
A leather Snow Suit with both pants and jacket are fine.
All classes that require leather suits now with speeds that may be less than 135 will still be enforced
Any rules for open mod and pro stock that require leather suits will not change.
I also recommend this for Improved Stock 1000 as we have seen 135 mph several times now.
So, with this class it is recommended, not required yet. If I start to see 136, it will be required.
Some show up to do over 135 mph in jeans, and this will not fly in 2009. Your run will be Disqualified.
Thanks!

Greg and Al,
Thanks for the comments and questions.
Yes, Kevlar that resembles a leather suit will be allowed. This means the Kevlar suit will have kevlar in all areas, or at least as much as any competition leather suit would have.
All racers will need to have leather boots that cover the ankles. Tennis shoes will not be allowed.
I am thinking of not requiring, but recommending that the Safe Jac be worn if a full leather/Kevlar suit or zip together leather suit is worn.
Any thoughts on this?
I know it is difficult to get my safe jac under my regular leather suit, which means that I have to buy a different jacket.
