Chetek is a go.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Last Sunday the folks at Chetek took ice checks and found 18 to 20 inches of ice with about 14 inches of that being Black ice, and the rest as frozen Snow/Water Ice. I anticipate the check this weekend coming up will show that we have 16 inches of black ice making the totals at 20 to 22 inches and there is only about 4 inches of snow on top of the ice. This will make for the negative temps to keep making ice.

Get those sleds ready for Chetek for February 22nd. The Cold weather is a blessing!  It appears that Saturday may be in the high 30’s for temp so good, we will need to warm up sleds behind the starting line if this is a real temp and forecast. Should be a great day of Racing Action and the NSSR Finale for this short season. Remember, the 23^rd is a backup raceday if needed for inclement weather by some chance.

For Hotels rooms, the Americas Best Value Inn in Chetek is good and the phone number is 715.924,4888. The AAA or AARP rate is $89.10 plus taxes. Rice Lake and surrounding areas have a bunch of hotels also if needed and are less than 20 miles away.

We will access Lake Chetek on the East end of Town by the Airport as normal.
