February 8th ( Feb 9th Backup Date): Gull Lake at Ernie’s on Gull – Just north of Brainerd, MN and west of BIR
– Ice is at 18 inches as of Friday the 24th with 8 to 12 inches of snow and no signs of flooding
– Have Sheriff’s permit in hand and DNR says they will issue tomorrow or Wednesday
– Pillager Fire Dept are on for EMR and First Responder coverage
– Announcer will be by the one and only Lon Oelke!
– Insurance is secured
February 15th (16th Backup Date): Currently on Schedule for Green Bay, WI and the Green Bay Race will be moved to February 28th and 29th with NO NSSR speedrun, Stacy and I may be present to help out on the 29th
Green Bay plans to have a Radar Run (Feb 29th) and will be by Velocity Racing with Drag Races (Feb 28-29) at Green Bay now.
Looking to move this race to Forest Lake, MN and still waiting for ice, was at 14 inches last week, Sheriff says it is closer to 16 inches now as they checked it for the
Polar Plunge they are doing on the 8th – I will check again around this coming weekend and provide update. Permits in progress – Was to be on the City Council Docket on January 27th, but now moved to February 10th as staff review did not make the January 22nd cutoff for agenda items.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Stay Tuned.
February 22nd (23rd backup): Chetek, Wi Winterfest Program as per earlier schedule. Ice is progressing and we have about 4 weeks for this to get up to thickness. Have to watch weather.
